EB3 to EB2 conversion- help

My company is ready to change my EB3 category to EB2 , can anyone tell me whether it is possible, do i need to start from the labor scarp or from I 140 stage, I'm, with the same employer for the past 6 yr.How can I hold my EB3 priority date.

EB3 India- July 2002
I 140/485/EAD/AP - apllied in dec 2004
I 140 aproved in may 2005
I 485- pending.
starting my 7th yr in H1 from this october.

I dont think u need to worry Did u look at the Sep bulletin.If u wait for 2-3 months u will be eligible even with eb3 to adjust status.
 
Yes, you have to start with a new LC. Now it is done through PERM. New advertising for the position, salary requirements etc. The whole process takes about 3 months before you can apply for the LC. If you get your EB2 approved you then apply for a new I140. You can keep your EB3 PD.
It is the entire process all over again!
