Congratulations!

How were you able to maintain such a nice 12 month gap between your EAD approvals? Were you not losing months every year because of that crappy "file 90+ days before expiration" rule of thumb?

Ead

In fact, I lost a couple of months when they approved EAD3, it was valid from 6/06/05, whereas the EAD2 was valid till 8/21/05. I called USCIS about this issue and then sent a written complaint to which they have never replied (of course!)

Also, there was a few days gap between EAD3 and EAD4. But the attorney said it's OK to have a gap provided that the EAD will be approved eventually.

Well, if you look at the dates in my case, the I-485 RFE was received in December 2004 and I was almost sure that the case will be approved in early 2005 because the preliminary processing was done. However nothing had happened. So in March 2005 I initiated an inquiry and learnt that my case got stuck in some sort of agency check. I also got Senator Gregg's involvement and his office had been updating me with the same status notice monthly. In March 2006 they sent me something new: my case is awaiting visa #'s to become available for my priority date. That's when I think the name check was cleared.

Congratulations!!! It is a good news that gaps between two EADs is okay.
