EB2 to EB3

My company is applied for my green card. I started working my company after completing my bachelors degree (in USA). I have been working for my company for last 5 yrs. My position required 4 yrs of experience but I m going to get a promotion which will require 5 yrs of experience.

I have filed for my I-485 but I am not current, far from it. Can I change from EB3 to EB2. All my experience is with the company that is filing for my green card.

Please advice.

No. Experience gained from the current employer generally does not count.

Okay - 'yes' in that case ... however, the job requirement in the LC should be at least 50% different from the curent designation. That's what I read from this forum. Gurus please add here.

Yes, it's a lot different (705%+) than the previous role.
