I got an email from CRIS saying approval of I-140 EB2-NIW. Though this forum was not much usefull for me when I got my RFE, I learned a lot from this forum. Matter of fact, with my little credentials I could dare to apply only after reading many successfull stories in the forum. Thanks for every thing you all did. I am in the field of Educational reaserch through my teaching (not PhD degrees through the university), I faced much challenges to compensate my little published matrerials and citations. God is great to help me out in this process. Special thanks to JK 0274, llp1, ChrisV,mmed, GCforTravel and many more........

I have some questions for you, what is my PD? the day I applied my I-140 or the day I applied I-485? I am from India.

Congratulations 2464. People post responses according to their experiences. Your case must have been unique as you sate, and could be the reason people could not offer advice.
Your priority date is when you filed your I 140 petition. Currently the dates for India are are around in 2004 cases. So, there is a long wait, even for filing 485, if you did not file one. But, if you are on H1B, the good news is you can keep on extending it indefinitely.
 
My RFE was not a regular template...IO was very specific about the details.... It looks like he read my application carefully several times and picked some of the things and wanted evidence.... he numbered all questions and it was a 6 questions questioniarre in a 3/4th of a page from starting to ending. 2 questions were about my experiance and awards I recieved back in the home country. (one of them is not in English so I had to transelate and notarise). 3 question was about the references I submitted, ".......while you submitted letters to support your work is above the peers, the evidence is required in concrete form....." Again I stated my awards and prizes starting from my studies to (including sports, elocution etc.,) until the 2 awards I recieved in US with in my first year. 4 question was aboout national level impacty..." though the problems stated are national it appears that your work currently has impact only in your class room ...... evidence is required to prove national impact...." I worked hard on this topic..... I collected letters from the people attended my seminors ... fortunately I had unexpoected number of people from various states and many of them helped in writing for me about the essence in their class rooms. I mentioned my studnets achievements... I have about 15 studnets who are in touch with me working in different countries including 5 in U.S. I got letters from them too.... 5th was about citations..... he want to see the publications and citations before my application was originally filed (I filed in Jan07, right after an year in U.S.) ......... whre I had little or nothing published as I told you I donot have PhD and it is difficult to search citations on the internet for the services I rendered in the home country...... I had to think and work hard about it... I searched all printed materials starting from the magzines and news papers... I had 2 articles printed in news papers, 1 in magzines and 5 in my organizations' magazines in India. I used letters as citations... told frankly that I could not find citations in this little time.... my last question was about my qualifications and the gold medal ... I did not know there is no gold medal system in U.S. education... he wanted to know details about the concept of gold medal in masters i had to search equal american vocabulary for it.
As a whole my reply to RFE ws entirely a new application from my original one..... it was abot 30 pages... and big bundle of supporing documents... I had provided evidence for every single achievement I claimed lots of seminor materials .... lots of workshop details... he took very long time.... but APPROVED:D

Thanks Drdoctor1, I understand that, as I said before even then forum was much useful to me and I learned a lot from it.
Thanks for the details on PD. I applied 485 in Aug flow.... hope some thing will comeup with in 2 years......
