Eb2 Eb3 issue

Hi,
This must be a unique case. I have a Masters degree (Civl Engineering) and had requested my lawyers to file my case under EB2 but they said my job doesnt require a Masters Degree and I-140 wont get approved under EB2. My lawyers filed my I140 under EB3 category but I got the approval notice with EB2 category. The approval notice says Section 203(B) People with Adv degress or eceptional ability. I asked my lawyers and they say it must be a typographical error. I think USCIS did see that I have a Masters degree and therefore categorized me under EB2. What can this be? Is there any ways I can find out from USCIS as to which category I fall under or they have approved me for? Can someone provide me with this information and dilemma please?
Also, I dont think there is any Job in engineering which will say that it requires a Masters degree in Engineering. We do Masters for our own credentials and USCIS has setup the EB2 category so that people with advanced degrees have advantage over the skilled professionals.
