EB1b(OR) RFE Help at NSC

Guys, I welcome any comments and experience sharing.

My company's immigration attorney submitted concurrent I-140/485 for me to NSC in May 2004. They just received a RFE.

Message from my immigration attorney,
"The RFE asks for 2 items of information: 1.) A new job offer letter form Borden Chemical which unequivocally extends an offer of permanent employment to you to conduct research. 2.) Additional evidence that you had at least 3 years of teaching or research experience before 5/14/04, the date that the I-140 was filed with the USCIS. In that regard, research or teaching experience gained while working on an advanced degree can count toward the 3-year requirement, but only if the research is recognized as outstanding or if the applicant had full responsibility for the courses taught. The RFE requests that we submit additional letters from current or former employees to document your 3 years of experience. This request is more important than the first, because it is asking that we establish a basic requirement for approval of the immigrant visa petition."

My background: 99-02: PhD in US; Dec02-now, permanent research position at a private company. I think I can have a good documentation on my research experiences (e.g. award for graduate research and company award for research excellence, etc.).

Does any body have any experience, especially with NSC on this type of RFE? Does it sound like a tough RFE or more like a routine one?

I am somehow glad that they are processing my case now..

re:

These references seem easy to answer.

My EB-1 OR I-140 was filed in April 2004, but no news yet. I-485 was filed in April this year. Are they processing cases randomly? Any friends who applied before May are still waiting for I-140?

I filed I-140 EB11 and NIW in May, 2005 in NSC and got RFE in January 2005. Sent the response to RFE in April 2005, so far no any response.
