Hello all,

I am about to apply for I-140 with the help of an attorney under EB1.
I am from a country with retrogressed status. please help me with the following:

1. how long would it take to get my EAD(given things go my way).
2. is there a website or a thread here which details various steps involved in the process and the respective timelines?
3. what is "name verification"? what can I do to expedite it (and when)?

thanks

You can concurrently file 485, EAD, and AP all together, generally the initial EAD comes out quick- in a month time (but cases are there, which takes longer). But if your 140 is denied (unforseen reasons) then your EAD become invalid, and you may have to leave the country. so it is a good practice to keep the current non-immigrant visa until you get the 140 approval.
Please spend some time on this forum, has mountain of resources on immigration issues.

sorry, but, it seems confusing to me. According to your statement, just by filing I-140 (with concurrent I-485), one can get EAD. Are you sure? because as far as I know, EAD will only come AFTER ONE'S i-140 application get APPROVED. Please give you input. Thx.
