Hi,

My I-140 EB1-OR was approved on July 2nd, 2003 at CSC.
The RD was April 17th, 2003.

WAC 03 151 54xxx

Earlier the application was submitted in EB1-EA category on July 11th, 2002 and was denied on Jan 29th, 2003 (after BCIS received the RFE response).

Just in case anyone else is in the same boat...
The only difference in OR was that 13 letters were submitted (instead of 8 in EA). Tried to meet 8/10 in EA earlier. In OR we made a case for 4/6 criteria. The content was the same in both the applications. Format ofcourse was very different.

Did you retain any attorney? Was he/she the same for both of your petitions?

Would you mind sharing the contact details of your attorney for this successful OR petition?

My EB1-OR petition was also approved on July 01 at CSC. RD: April 10, 2003.

I received the written notice from INS. But when I check my online status today, it was not updated. How about yours? Is your online status updated?

Yes, We did retain the same attorney.

PhD ChemE
4 journal publications + several in conference proceedings etc.
One International (NAMS) award
13 letters

If I have to pinpoint one thing that may have nailed it then I would have to say that it was the recommendation letters (including one from EPA and one from US Navy).

Please let me know if you need any additional info. The INS direct tel system and the online status have not been updated yet.

Still waiting for AP and EAD.

Thanks for the information.

You sound as if getting strong recommendation letters is a kid's game.Is it really so? If not,how can you manage to get so many so fast?Or,if you are really so highly capable,how come you have not yet received a Nobel Prize? No disrespect to you!:cool:

It depends very much on where you are. Say, you work in the university department that also employs a Nobel laureate. Even if you can't just walk into his office yourself, someone in the department you know can and you can ask that person. And that's how it goes - it is easier to find big people when you're in a the big place. So it's still not a kid's game but it is somewhat easier.
