My employer's lawyer filed EB1 140 and concurrent 485 at NSC last year, I have my EAD, fingerprint done. My 140 is pending, lawyer is not willing to file an EB2 on PERM for me, since he says our company is not hiring people now, and their position is not to file PERMs anymore.
Probably my company will start doing PERMS next year or the year after that, and there is a chance that my EB1 could be denied in the meantime, thus I will be waiting for another application till they start the PERM filing.
I was wondering if I am allowed to leave the company, and get another lawyer who will look into this EB1 case. I could look for a job in a company who will support a PERM application asap. Is that an option, or EB1 OR applications are linked to the company that I am working now?
