Hi all:
My NIW councurrent application pending at NSC. I am wishing to apply for EB1-EA.
My qualifications:
1) PhD: In Pharmaceutical Sciences from US Univ.
2) 1 yr 6 months experience in pharmaceutical industry as research scientist.
2) 11 publications (6 1st author + 5 2nd author) in international journals.
3) About 40 + citations (excluding self citations)
4) Reviewed 3 articles for 3 Journals.
5) Discussion about my work on-line at rxnews.com and also extensive discussion in couple of review articles.

I have 8 letters (5 independent: 1 from china, 1 from India, 1 from Kuwait).
I am thinking of claiming the following criteria:
1) Major contributions 2) Publications 3) Discussion of work in media 4) Reviewing others work 5) critical role for organization.

Is reviewing 3 articles very low to claim under judging others criteria. My name was included in 4 more journals reviewer database recently. Is it wise to wait for sometime to get more reviewer requests.
Your comments on my chances if apply now to NSC or wait N watch some moretime greatly appreciated.

- Your articles need to be journals with high impact factor since you do not have many. And have lots of citations.
- you need to be a reviewer of good international journals and show that you have reviewed for a long period of time and not just a few.
- Claiming media is tough. You need to show lot written about you.
- Critical role is also tough. You need to show you earn a significant high salary and manage lots of people etc etc

My advice. wait and make your credentials better.

You seem to have great credentials.
What you have to do is to present your acheivements in the best possible way and show that you are outstanding in various ways. You could do that by showing how few pharmacists do PhDs, the reputation of your grad school, the importance of drug research and so on.
Think about this ina purely legal perspective

need to write strong petition letter. #citataions are very less, but sometimes it will click. more external reco is good too.

Hi!

I agree with some of the comments already made.
- "reviewing others' work" is unlikely to work
- "media reviews" look very specialized. It is good for "Major contributions", but weak for the "media" criteria
- publications/citations counts are not very high.
- hard to know how critical your role is from what you wrote...

I would advise to wait for more reviews/publications/citations... You are supposed to be in the few percentage at the top of your field, and it is not easy to demonstrate if you have not worked for very long or have only 40 citations alltogether.

Chris

thanks

Hi ChrisV, Pswami:
thanks for the suggestions.
Since I am working in the industry there is less scope for improving credentials ie. publications.
I am getting few more citations every month.
Also I got 2 more reveiw requests yesterday from different journal.
Since I reviewed for 4 different journals, Can I calim that I have widespread recognition and calim as judging others work.
thanks
