EB1-EA : I-485 vs CP - urgent

Hi!

 I had applied for CP but now I am thinking of switching over to I-485. Once I get the EAD card (based on I-140 approval through EB1-EA), can I start working independently?

You can do so as long as you applied for the I-140 on your own and not through an employer. However, if you can wait a few months, you might as well pursure the CP route as the AOS route might still take about 12 months at minimum before you get your GC.
