EB1-EA filed...

Hi!

Thanks to those of you who answered my questions or posted their experience and advice about the whole process.

I filed electronically a couple of days ago and the supporting documentation will leave for TSC with the mail tomorrow. I started all of this 6 weeks ago, and I wouldn't have been able to go that fast without you. Actually, the hardest part was to bug those who wrote letters for me :)

I decided to file only for the I-140. I have to travel too many times in the two months to come to go right now into the burden of the Advance Parole Document. Everything is ready though (I-485 and the many forms going with it) to be filed as soon as I get my petition accepted or at the end of August, whatever comes first. I will go for PP as soon as I get a receipt for the documentation.

So, thanks again! I'll keep you posted as news come and I'll keep posting comments based on what I learned so far.

News...

Hi!

I thought I would give news as it comes using the thread I started when I e-filed my I-140.

Documents were sent on June 28. They arrived at TSC on July 5, and were linked to my file today (July 10). The email I got ackowledging my submission is not what I was expecting, though it is probably the usual message:

"Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed.

On July 10, 2007, we received your response to our request for evidence. .../..."

It is an initial submission of documents, only complementing an e-filed I-140. I guess it is seen by CRIS as an answer to an RFE.

I also e-filed for PP on June 29, but I got my money back... PP was already unavailable on that day (see the other thread here for details).

Filing of I-485 after July 30, 2007

The USCIS website says you should file EB based I-485 to either NSC or TSC, depends wherever you live, effective July 30, 2007. (I-485 filing starts on 1 October only as we all know).

What does it mean? If you have your I-140 approved at TSC, still do one needs to file I-485 at NSC, say if you live in CA or IL. I have many people
filed both I-140 (efiled to TSc) and I-485 at TSC.

Can someone shed light on this?
