I just checked my email after a gap of 5 days as I was away for a conference and just didnt want to continue the ritual there. My EB1-EA has been approved on 2nd October from TSC. I efiled the application on 2nd March 2007 and mailed it on 12th March. It was a self petition and I was keeping my fingers crossed. Thank GOD there was no RFE etc. My NIW application filed on 15th Nov at NSC is still pending. I just hope that I get that one approved too as I filed my I-485 in August 2007 with the receipt copy of both the petitions as I was not sure whcih one will have better chance. Now I don't know which petition will it get linked too finally. I filed on 17th august (last day receipt as per USPS) I am yet to get the receipt notice for that and my checks have not been cashed yet.
I would like to thank this forum members for the help and support all along and wish everyone here best of luck. Hope u all will hear the good news soon.
BTW can I pre-mpt to ask TSC to link my so called pending 485 ( with out receipt yet) to this petition so that I can roll out faster?
Thanks everybody and I will be happy to help with any details etc for people who are planning to apply now.

Hi Texas_NIW

Congratulations for the approval.

Is your receiptless I485 filed based on your then pending EB1-EA or else the currently pending NIW. It is not clear on what basis you did file the I485 from your previous post.

Congratulations, I am on the same boat, filled my NIW and 485 in July and still waiting for the notice. Transfer/interlink has met with some success for few some severe delay for few. I am thinking to file I-485 again and then withdraw earlier one . We loose money, but atleast we are sure that 485 will be based on EB1

I just submitted my 485 with copies of receipt for both my pending I-140s ( NIW & EB1-EA). I thought I will let them decide which one they want to link it too and later will ask them to interlink to whichever is approved first.

Question about filing I-485 EB1

Hi:
I have a silly question.
I applied EB2 NIW (INDIA) concurrently in sep. 2005. I-140 approved in three months. Then last month namecheck cleared. Now my employer (University) wants sponsoir for green card. since then no approval. At this point i have a question to this forum. can i appluy directly file only I-485 under EB1, reuestiing relinking the my NIW I-140 approval. is that possible.
Please advise me. i am so tired with green process. thanks all huys and i wish best of luck to you all.

I have heard different answers from different people based on their experiences on linking. It can take as much as several months to link applications. So if your date is current, sometimes it is faster to simply withdraw an old application and file a fresh I485.

I see... Then, I am not sure really what USCIS people would do, but hopefully they will not return the I485 application back to you and ask you to resend it.

You may want to contact them to be on the safe side.

Thanks

PhD in Mol. Genetics from a big univ. in europe now postdoc in a leading cancer institute.
10 papers - 4 first authors including in Nat. Gen, Genes Dev, MCB etc
>325 citations that time.
12 reco letters from faculties from europe and US, 6 known and 6 unknown. Actually I managed to get 2 very good reco letters from NIH faculty , one known to me and another one not known directly but wrote news and views article on my paper.
I had 2 news views articles on my 2 papers and couple of other small reports on internet or print media.
on editoral board of one journal. supervised technicians, masters and phd students.
No big award, just couple of fellowships and travel grants ( 5 in all)during PhD and post doc.
Member of SigmaXi and AACR

So My major points were high impact publications, high citations, very good recos and media reports but I did mention the last 2 points without stresssing much. made a nice cover letter compared my credentials to average US student. seems it worked. My main worry was if I overkilled, I had compiled everything I could lay my hands on and didnt knew what else to do if they ask for more in RFE. I am glad it worked out. Hoep NSC approves NIW too. for that I have though put the same points but have not made a cover letter explaining the stuff so they may have to look through the binder.Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Your credentials are very good! Congrats..you totally deserve it! How did you manage to get reco from NIH? I emailed a couple a profs there...they replied back stating that since they are govt empoyees they are not allowed to write support letters?!! I know this was not just an excuse, because they were genuinely supportive of my case.

Actually it is true NIH faculties are advised not to write reco letters through an internal memo. But one faculty known to me was a co author on 5 of my papers so I suppose he had to appreciate my work and the other one was very nice though our competetor in the field but had written news views articles on our work and was appreciative of our research in the field. Actually 3 of my papers were the first lead and resulted in changing the prevalent dogma that is why the high impact journals and citations stuff.
