EB1-A chances

Hello,

This is my first visit to the forums. I am planning to apply for EB-1A category. i work as a scientist at Johnson and Johnson in the US. I have a Ph.d. in Chemical Engineering. i have 10 publications in Langmuir, PRL etc. I am a reviewer for three reputed journals. I have a patent filed. My papers have been cited 170 times. Do I stand any chance for EB1-A. I would get 6 good recommendation letters.
My other problem is that I cannot afford a lawyer. I have to do it myself. Also, how good are the DIY packages. I am also having trouble in recommendation letters, I wrote a few but am falling short of words for some more letters. Can we exchange some letters and see how everybody is writing.

Thanks in advance.

Hey, I am very new to this forum but I am essentially in the same boat as you are. Applying without a lawyer but I will likely utilize the NIW (luckily I am "the rest of the world" so the wait is not crazy). And yes I am too writing the letters and running out of words. This is sooooo frustrating! To make you feel a little better, the lawyer is not going to write the letters for you. They do explain how to write them and provide a few general examples (seen about 5 - NOT very useful) but that's all.
Yes, I am using the DIY kit. I did a shot in the dark and found the one I ended up purchasing very useful. I am very new to this forum, but I think you can message me privately if you are interested and we can chat more offline. I will not post the link or name to the kit here because... just because :-) All the best!
