I filed an inquiry on my case. Yesterday I got letter and states like below:
"An I-485 Application/pettion has been filed at this service center. The application was received January 7, 2000.
As established by law, only 10,000 asylees may adjust status to that of a permanent Resident in any given fiscal year.(A visa must be available before an adjustment can be approved.) The Nebraska Service Center currently is in charge of the issuance of these number.
For Fiscal year 2004 (October, 2003 to september 30, 2004) cases reviewed for visa will be those filed prior to November, 1999. It is anticipated that NSC will begin adjudication of those cases pending at the Service Center sometime next year. The Number of ayslum approvals each year greatly exceeds the number of visa slots. thus the wait. Presently there are over 150,00 pending I-485 application filed by asylees to adust status of that of a parmanent resident pending at NSC.
With only 10,000 visa available, the anticipated wait for your visa is until fiscal year 2012 (October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012). Application will be worked in date order received. You will be notified when a decision is made on the application.
If you have any questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1800-375-5283."
Is there anyone with the same or simmilar expreience?
Can anyone help me what is going on?
