EB-2 NIW: Any recent approvals?

Since long nobody has posted here NIW approval details like RD, ND, RFE (nature of RFE and date received if applicable) and AD.

Has INS (and VSC especially) slowed down lately?

Waiting so long for a receipt notice

I filed my I-140 petition based on NIW on Aug 31, 2001. I am still waiting for the receipt notice. However,my check of processing fee was cashed on Sept 18,2001.

Probably your receipt notice got lost in postal transit. However, you can find the receipt number on the front side of the encashed check just above the signature part. Visit your bank and see if they can help you. OR talk to a person on phone at the concerned INS service center.
