I was amazed yesterday to receive I485 approval from Texas SC with receipt date Oct 19/04 and approval date May 19/05 -- 7 months start to finish. Not sure if I am the beneficiary of the backlog reduction effort, or some pilot program, or what, but with the official I485 processing date of Apr 16/03, I was expecting to wait another 18 months!
The I485 had been filed concurrently with I140 class EB-1C (multinational manager/executive), transitioning from current L1A status. Fingerprint notification date was Mar 10/05 and was completed Apr 28/05, so it only took 3 weeks from fingerprinting to I485 approval.
I just scheduled Infopass appointments in Dallas for four family members on Jun 6/05 -- 12 days from now. Getting the four appointments required some tips from other threads -- Infopass only allows one appointment per IP address, so after making the first with my normal internet connection (fixed IP cable modem), I connected/disconnected to the internet 3 times in a row with a dial-up modem, forcing a new IP address each time. Also, fyi, a bunch of Infopass appointments became available around 7 am Dallas time this morning (Wednesday). There had been no appointments available yesterday from 8 pm to midnight, and a single appointment was available for TODAY when I checked at 6:45 am (probably a cancellation). Then shortly after 7 am I found a bunch of new appointment times for June 6 and other dates. Not sure if this is a predictable daily occurrence, or random.
