just a question!
generally they start name check as soon as u submit I-485...
how did u come to know about ur name check status?

My attorney contacted USCIS in May, 2005 and got a reply that I am stuck in Name check. I contacted congressman in my area in sept and got a reply from FBI indicating that my name check was initiated in early feb 2005. So it was initiated after I submitted my I-485 in Jan 2005. My fingerprints were done in March, 2005.

how much time did congress man took to reply ur query send in sep2005?

I have a question. My case is NIW and from a backlogged country. Currently the I140 is approved and I485 pending. Finger print done. Does it mean they won't process mine I485 till my PD is current?

By lacklogged do you mean retrogressed country!!!
if yes, they will keep processing I-485 but will not approve till its current!!
