i think eb-1 and eb-2 will become current by sept 2006.many people who applied prior to 2005 have got their g.c.there might be few cases stuck in backlog centres.which may not be too many of them.
all these calculations are just crap.it will continue to progress atleast by 6 months each bulliten hence forth.
common if these categories itself takes yrs to come out of retro how about eb-3?no body will ever want to stay in this country and its a major loss to this country which is rich and famous because of the outstanding work on the part of immigrants.
do not make baseless calculations and predictions, this retro will not last long.

wishful thinking brother/sister......but sadly it is not true...

I dont think even EB1-india will become current.....because there may not be much overflow from other categories......but Eb1-india PD will lag by 12-18 months (right now it is 24 months)

EB2 will lag behind by atleast 2-4 years......since many people from eb3-2003 onwards are going EB2 way..

I am EB1, so even though i want your words to be true.......it is too optimistic...

well said fimbria...I am with u...desis are never optimistic....I am not sure how long the retrogression in visa numbers will continue...but i am sure desi minds will continue retrogression for the next 100 years...

It is not the desi mind Mr. It is based on the available data given by various government agencies, educated predicitions and proper reasonings. No one here wants to wait for 100 years to get GC. Also, no one in this forums are forcing you guys to accept their analysis with retrogression numbers. If you hope retrogression ends this year, you continue that hope. Nothing wrong in it. If retrogression vanishes, I am the first person(desi) become happy as my PD in the year 2004.

Worst Part is ...

The worst Part is Labor Certifications getting cleared from Backlog Reduction Center of Dallas & Philadelphia.

They will be given priority and given visa numbers. To some extent it is true that many indian consulting body shops want to keep the employers with them hence they all file in EB3. Let us hope to get out of the retrogression soon.

To me it looks like it would take a while for the dates to become current and here we are talking years.

It will be miracle if dates become current by September 2006

what is worse part in that ?

I have waited three and half years in a hell hole and still waiting for labor to get cleared To me retrgression is correct to not let people with P.D of 2005 run away with visa numbers.

Understand your feelings

I totally understand your feelings. It is true that many people got away with Green Cards with recent Priority Date.

But understand that there are so many loop holes in the System itself.

1. Labor Certificate Substitution.

2. Filing multiple labor certifications from different states where the processing is fast.

What do you say about that?

I had completed my interview and just waiting for my PD to be current so that I can get my Cards.

If you have suffered that is totally your option to stick with it while many others got. You are an example of getting abused by Indian Consulting company. Is it not?

bigbang2001..you are on the spot man.....well said....retrogression has done one justice atleast.....otherwise i would have had my I-140 done and I-485 in process because of PERM.....even though i started the process in Oct-05.....while many of my friends are waiting since 2002

No system is perfect and never will be. You are another example of where it can put a spanner in one's life plans. I sympathise with you and hope that in very near future you can climb out of this mess and move forward.

PERM tried to solve one problem but to avoid it's side effect retrogression was necessary and I strongly believe it was the right thing to do as DOL lost their sense when they created Backlog centers with no accurate idea when it can process the 350K applications.

You can not generalize Indian consulting company to be sole agent of keeping H1B slaves. Talk to an H1B in a Bay Area based networking giant and you will know what machinations HR and Immigration department would go through to keep H1's on the edge. American companies are equally adept at creating roadblocks. From their perspective it is a correct thing to do ( may not be ethical but who cares about ethics in business)
