Early Walk in FP

A friend of mine, had done the FP early walk in, later when he called the USCIS on 1-800-375-5283 , they told him, even if the FP is done earlier, my friend still has to make it to the Application Support Center on the day of the appointment. his appointment is on monday, so he is in dilemma. I am concerned about this as I have done my FP, and my appointment was/is for 3/16/2010.

is what the Agent with the USCIS said plain BS (please pardon my language), or do i really have to show up on the appointment date at the ASC

the funny thing is he (even me) called the FBI and they said that the checks were done the very same day and reported back to USCIS and the FBI name checks take no more than 48 hours. He mentioned this to the agent and the agent replied that, you still have to make it to the ASC on the date of the appointment. Its about time that they stop giving out contradicting information. dont they have a pool of resources, a knowledge base or even a handbook, which they can look into before giving us these kind of BS.

Do not worry. Once you do your FP they are send by FBI back to USCIS. I always have done early FP. Last time (see my timeline) I did it around 10 a.m. and called FBI around 4 p.m. and they said the results were sent back to USCIS.

To all the people who complain that they can't get through to USCIS, it is due to such people making stupid phone calls and holding up the available lines.
First, they go and get their FP done out of line, then they call up USCIS and then take up more time arguing with the CSR about something that they already know. (i.e. their fingerprints have cleared).

I think its about time people stop wasting the USCIS CSR's time with stupid calls. Some applicants have important things to deal with like missing Oath letters but they can't get through because some idiot is arguing about how and when the FBI processes fingerprints and that they know more about the process than the CSR (In which case, why the hell did they call in the first place).

dude take it easy, when my friend mentioned i had to make sure i am good, thats why i raised this quetstion here, rather than calling them up. besides the agents are pretty much no help at all.
when the fee for naturalization if $675.00 so the petitioners do have the right to ask questions, USCIS could hire more people and push the process faster, atleast some people will get fed jobs.

Sorry. I was talking about your friend. (this is the correct place to ask such questions)
