Hi All,
Our (myself & wife) I-485 receipt date is Oct 21, 2003, filed in Vermont Service Center. I was in Kansas City till April 2004 after which i moved to Sacramento. We had filed Change of address with Ar-11 form, also called up the toll free number and updated our addresses, but still my FP notice ( 1st) was sent to my Kansas city address, scheduled at Kansas city ASC for Sept 14th 2004 and my wife's to Sacramento ASC , scheduled for Sept 8th 12 noon!
Thankfully my attorney was also sent a copy of my FP notice which he had forwarded to me, so i had an original notice with me.
Anyways i was scheduled to be out of US on Sept 14th so went with my wife to Sacramento ASC on Sept 8th at 12 noon. Explained the situation to the security officer, that i am scheduled at different ASC a week hence. He said no problem, i could do it along with my wife's.
Noticed that they had my kansas city address when they pulled up my record! Had them update it while they took my FP. Point is no matter whether you have filed AR-11 and called in, always check with your attorney for FP notices!
On Sept 13th, both mine and my wife's online status changed to the following -
On September 10, 2004, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made.
I was concerned whether VSC had the fingerprint results or not since i had it done from Sacramento. When i called up the toll free number the lady said that
since my online status was updated it should not be a problem, but just in case i could send a letter, my FP notice and FP receipt to VSC informing them that i had my early FPs done at Sacramento instead of kansas city ASC. However a couple of days later i had to call the customer service again, and i asked this question and the rep at that time ( diff person ) said " I dont know why she said that to you. Your online status is updated means FBI has processed your FP and VSC knows about it and your case has resumed. You dont need to contact VSC, you dont need to do anything until you hear from VSC"
Now iam confused. Should i send the letter as suggested my 1st rep or should i not? Does the changed online status mean that my FPs have been processed by FBI and sent to VSC and that VSC have it now and they have proceeded with my case further? Do i need to check again with VSC about this? Is there a FBI / VSC number i can call to check on this? Or am i just ok and dont need to do anything?
Very much appreciate any answers!
