Thought this might be helpful.
I got my FP2 notice scheduled for 04/07/04, and I'll be India during that time so decided to take a chance and go to Newark for early FP (as I was going for interim EAD in a nearby INS office)
Walked in to FP office at arorund 3;00. there was this extermely generous and helpful lady sitting at the counter, we told her our situation and requested her - to be precise very politely and with humbleness and she said Yes (one of the reason was that there were not many people - hardly 2-3 in the FP line)
So we completed our FP today and we were out by 3:18 PM, so basically the experience was very good for us.
My advise:
1) Don't hide anything from the person at the counter
(good if there is this lady)
2) Choose a time when you know there'll be less people
arround 2:30 - 3:30 except Wednesday and Saturday
3) Give some genuine proof for your rescheduling
4) Be polite and humble
That worked for me, should work for you guys, after all those people have hearts too.
