Early childhood education is often not located in the same department as K-12 programs; it may be called child development, family ..., or many other names. It will vary by university. Since the programs are generally in both community colleges for day care providers (AA) and state universities for pre-K schools (BA/BS), you need to further identify what you are interested in.
Most large state universities will have a program; in many states there are what were originally "teachers colleges" which are now regional universities that have excellent, lower cost programs. Early childhood education careers are not generally high paying and students are unwilling to assume large debt for the programs and stay with affordable state institutions.
You need to identify the location where you wish to study and start with the major universities for the most highly regarded programs. A key thing you should look for is a lab school on campus where students do their student teaching and observerships.
