Hi All,
I am getting ready to file for my citizenship papers and have conflicting op  inions on the earliest timeframe we can send out application. On the official website they say 3 months before one completes 5 years of GC, but many say we can file 6 months before and was getting ready for this. Recently a friend of mine confused me further saying that it is better to file 2 months before even though they say 3 months as per the lawyer he talked to. Would like to know from you all what your experience has been? Is it OK to file 6 Months Before???????

If the law says 3 months, then why chase another rumors or sayings? why don't you go with the definite and clear law? it's 3 months before the completion of the 5 years. And please, show me one guy on this forum who says 6 months before the five years. Please be careful and don't send it till after 4 years and 9 months + one or two days to be in the safe side. better safe than sorry.

Go ahead file your N-400 earlier than 90 days from your 5th anniversary and risk getting your N-400 application denied AND lose your unrefundable application fee!

Do you think your overeagerness would be worth it?

Thanks Everybody for your valuable advise. I think i will 'HANG ON' for 3 more months now that i am so close to applying.
