Unpaid leave would be fine. Also you are covered by 245-k for up to 180 days of unauthorized employment.Did anyone have the experience of handling this situation when there was a gap in the validity periods of your old and new EAD's.
If you were working, did you have to resign or just took unpaid leave for the gap? ... or any other option

I didn't say you CAN work without EAD. What I say is if you work without authorization USCIS can pardon you if you work less then 180 days.Do you mean one can work without EAD , rather one can work while waiting for EAD ?. Any information on 245-k is appreciated
