EAD / updating SSN

Hi,

My wife's status has changed from F1 to EAD ( Dependent on 485,
not OPT).
Does she have to get her Social security card updated ?
F-1 's already have a line on their card that reads "
Work with INS approval " or something like that.

If she needs to get het card updated, does she need it
before starting to work for an employer or does EAD suffice ?

She doesn't need to get her card updated because she still requires INS permission for work authorization (i.e. she needs a valid EAD at all time) when she gets her GC, then she can get her Social Security card updated with will not say anything like that on it. I don't think the Social Security Office will give you a card with will not say INS permission required because your wife is still not a permanent resident or a citizen
