While doing an H1 transfer we normally have to submit the latest paystubs of the company holding the current H1 and my current H1 is held by my previous employer

I am now working on EAD after having used AC21 4 months ago . The H1 I have(which I am currently not using, since I am on EAD) belongs to my ex-employer. Now, fearing some issues with my GC and for a backup I want to file a H1 transfer with my new company. Can I submit the paystubs I got from my new company on EAD and request for the H1 tranfer? Can someone help?
