EAD Status if I-485 gets denied

I was just wondering, if my I485 gets denied, does that invalidate the EAD issued to me on the same date (the AOS gets denied?) or can we still use it 'til its expiration (without the chance of getting it renewed again ever). Also, if it does get denied, does that mean you get booted out of the country automatically, after a grace period, if ever there was a grace period?

I am just wondering what is the time frame given to anybody who gets denied to get their affairs in order.
