EAD start date

My EAD is expiring in oct 2007 and my lawyer is suggesting to apply now.
My question if I get my new EAD in one month (say august 2007)what would be start date on new EAD.
Is it from October because my first EAD is expiring in October or it will start from august?

usually, yes, a new EAD will pick up where the previous one left off if it is the same category as the previous one (i.e. a renewal).
