I just did mine. My lawyer told me to renew it before 6 months of expiration.

I did it myself and also got the receipt. But I did not do it online. My presend EAD is expiring on 10/12 so i sent my application on 04/13 and got the receipt date as 04/16.

Is it not too early to apply for EAD for u, if it gets approved before the expiration, when will the new approval start from the date after the expiray of first or from the date the second got approved,could anybody clarify?

EAD's date will continue from the date that previous one valid till date.

For example :- EAD 1- is valid from "08-04-03 to 08-03-04"

EAD 2 will start from "08-04-04 to 08-03-05"
