I have applied for EAD renewal and I don't think I will get it in time before my current EAD expires. My lawyer tells me that I will not be able to work if I don't have a valid EAD. But she also tells me that if your EAD hasn't been approved in 90 days, then the local INS office is supposed to issue an iterim EAD by law, if you appear in person. When I talked to IIO, I was told that they may not issue interim EADs in Texas.
What are your thoughts/experiences on this? Is anybody else in the same boat as me? Does anyone know of anybody who has got their interim EAD at the Dallas office. Can we go to some other office, say Houston to get it(if they are known to issue it)?
