EAD renewal

My EAD was applied/filed last time by my lawyer. This time I intend to do it by mail myself. However I have no idea of the list of docs. According to the INS website/form only things reqd are as follows:

1) 485 copy
2) 2 photos
3) The top half of the mailer sent with earlier EAD
4) Copy of Front/back of current EAD
5) Copy of I94 front & back

I went to the EAD forum and got really confused. People seem to be attaching every possible document(Passport, DL etc) and that too color copies of some!!!! I would not have been surprised if I had seen a mention of the Ration card they give us in India.

No offense meant to people who attach all but has anyone had an experience of getting approval without an RFE with just the documents they asked for.

Please let me know.

If you want to apply with documents listed in INS website go ahead and apply. I have applied for EAD renewal last week for my wife. I included all the
documents listed in EAD forum. If you get RFE after 2 months asking for passport copy or marriage certificate, you will be losing some time. So its up to you. I am definitely sure they won't ask you for ration card, just in case keep a copy of ration card at hand (just kidding)

I have enclosed the following documents for EAD renewal
1) 485 copy

6) Copy of Passport (biographic information only)
7) Marriage Certificate (in my wife's case)
8) Check payable to USCIS

One more question

I have asked this in general but whom did you make Chq payable to (Full name pls) and did you put both apps in one packet and did you write anything on packet viz. I765 renewal etc.
