EAD renewal with Corrections

Hi,

Has anyone been through renewal of work permit EAD (with corrections)?

For example, there is some correction required in date of birth

My scenario is that my kid's year of birth came in incorrect because of my own mistake, I didn't even know until I was filing tax return for last year and there the error came up since IRS and Social Security database was fed with information provided by USCIS

Anyway, I moved on with the incorrect information because there was no time left,

Also I contacted IRS and Social Security later to correct the information and I will provide the supporting documents such as birth certificate but their answer was have it corrected at source i.e. USCIS.

I could have rectified it later but it would have cost me money since the mistake was at my end and USCIS charges fee to correct the information if the mistake is not at their end. So I decided to wait until next renewal and there I would specify it to USCIS in my renewal application

Now, I would need help for following please

1. Procedurally speaking, how different is "renewing" work permit than from the 1st time? Any new set of Documents?

2. How should I Specify the required correction "year of birth" on my kid's EAD renewal application? A cover letter perhaps explaining the error ? and of course i will fill up the correct information in renewal application

3. Lets say if one's EAD is expiring in December, The current recommendation from USCIS and Lawyers is to apply for renewal 6 months prior i.e. in June in such case, but then current covid situation is also benefiting for an automation 6 month extension, Would that mean one can apply in Dec? right when the EAD is going to expire? since there is an auto 6 month extension

Thanks in Advance
