EAD renewal vs I-485 approval - any relation??

Guys,

I have read in this forum that applying for EAD renewal might trigger I-485 approval.
If it is (or was) true, does that happen if renewed ONLINE or just do it manually?
And also is there any harm to go for e-filing to renew my EAD (3rd time) ?

Any help wud be appreciated..

I-485 ND -03/31/2003 AD -????
FP1 - 09/02/2004 - LUD changed only once when I initiated for a status inquiry on 12/03/2004.
Spouse FP1 - 09/11/200- LUD never changed ...

We filed manually for EAD 3 and ND was Dec 1st even though our EADs were valid till next March. 485 was approved on Dec 15. And the funny part was we received the renewed EAD cards in the mail Dec 18! And they are valid from Dec 9 2004 till Dec 8 2005. Early filing cutoff 3 months on the existing EAD.

My EAD expires on 04/28/05, so, do i have to wait another month to apply for renewal???
 
It is the same thing if people tell you that drinking a highly concentrated sud of ginger and onions protects them from the flu.
They drink it, they don't get the flu. Did one thing cause the other ? Who knows. (true true unrelated)

I wouldn't think that EAD filings can 'trigger' anything. As far as I understand the internal workings of USCIS, the EAD's are managed by an entirely different branch than the I485s themselves.

It is always a good idea to apply 3 months before. The reason is in case it does not get EAD renewed for more than 90 days, you can get an interim EAD. It happened to me for EAD 2 .
 
I think there is some relation between EAD renewal and I-485

I applied for EAD renewal on 12/15/04 (ND) and on 12/20 LUD changed to 12/20 on I-485 and I-765 and I LUD also changed to 12/20 for my family members.

Lets see if our I-485's get approved with EAD renewal.
