EAD Renewal Sent to NSC instead of Local INS office

I will really appreciate if you could shed some light on this case. I have my EAD expiring on May 29, 2002. So, I applied for the Renewal last week 28,april. But I have sent the Required doc. to NSC instead of local INS office (everyone, I noticed, sending to local INS office). Should I have gone personally to the local office?? Did I make a mistake?? Will my renewal take long? How long does it normally take for the renewal of EAD??
  I am changing jobs and I will really appreciate your help. Please!!!
 
Does your local INS grants EAD on a walk in basis? If oyu\'re applying with NSC

, try to keep a timeframe of atleast 3 months. My EAD expires in Aug, I still got it renewed yesterday in local INS office
 
What did you do to renew?? Have you have fill some application,pay fee etc..Please give me some deta
