EAD renewal question

1. My 2nd EAD expires in December. How far in advance should I apply for the renewal
2. I am the primary applicant and my wife just started a job in a different State on her EAD. (So we will be living in 2 different Sates). Does that have any impliction while applying for the renewal of EAd, or should both the EAD's come to my address?
Thanks.

Golden rule for EAD renewal

1) Apply EAD renewal at least 90 days before it expires in fact it is advisable to apply between 90 and 120 day. You need to have RD/ Nd 90 days in advance.
reason for doing so is your eligibility of IEAD in case nothing is working out in your favor.

2) Apply in your address, your service center. Do not complicate it otherwise they think, you are not even married and may delay your wife's case.

Good luck guy, I am getting ready for my fourth EAD/ AP and H1 for 7th year around the same time.

If you apply for her EAD using your address, make sure her name is registered under your address (e.g. you don't have mail forwarding set up for her in post office). Otherwise her EAD will be returned to INS (BCIS). I learned that in a hard way and it took me more than 6 months and a painful process to get them re-send the EAD.

1) Make sure you apply at least 100 to 120 days in advance. That way you should receive a receipt notice with a ND that is at least 90 days prior to the date of expiration of your old EAD. Remember, TSC is approving EADs in 10 to 20 days today but there was a time when they took 5 to 6 months to do the same. Should this unfortunate development recur at least you'll be able to get the interim EAD after 90 days.

2) Don't bother changing your wife's address. This will complicate things. As long as you maintain your address as the primary address TSC does not need to know about any new address. That might in fact prompt them to send you a RFE for proof that you two are still married (for your 485 case). Make sure you don't have mail forwarding set up for your wife with the USPS and also make sure that you use your address when you file your federal tax returns next year(I assume you will file as married filing jointly on the same return).
Hope this helps.

No EAD card yet...

Online message says, "application was approved on June 12th and will be mailed as soon as the card is ready." So far, no progress. Anybody has any idea, when I can see the next message update, something like, "we mailed your card on Jun/Jul XX"?

For mine it took about 10 days for another message to occur; for a friend, it took about 25 days. So just hang in there for 1-2 more weeks.

ead renewal

you can apply for ead renewal 180 days in advance and i would certainly advise you to do that for the simple reason since TSC does not have any standard for renewals, the negative of applying earlier - some people have received EAD within couple of weeks/days after applying for renewal and they were renewed with the approval date and these guys lost couple of months, i had applied for renewal of my EAD nearly six months in advance and i received EAD with date from the expiry of the present EAD that i have.
