EAD renewal question

I have a EAD renewal interview in newark on 9/19. My lawyer had sent the EAD renewal papers to newark office as my case had already been transferred to newark. Newark office is asking to bring along cancelled checks used to pay the fee and old EAD. The lawyer\'s office told me that they don\'t have the cancelled check but they can give the cuplicate copy (from checkbook). Anybody has experience getting/renewing EAD from the local office. Is cancelled check a must. Please share your experience. Thanks.
RD/ND - 8/00, EB2 India, transferred to newark in June, interview in July, case on hold for CIA name check.
 
If you paid the check , You can ask your bank to provide a copy

lawyer paid the fee

The problem is that the lawyer sent his check to pay the fee and my employer paid him. I am gonna meet the lawyer soon and will try to have him get the duplicate from his bank. Thanks.
