EAD renewal question

Hello!

My lawyer had filed for my first EAD renewal and AP renewal together in the 2nd week of July. I got back my AP renewal in the first week of August, but have not heard anything about my EAD renewal. Does INS send back a receipt notice for EAD renewal applications? Or, do they just send the new card when it is approved (and one does not hear anything before that)?
My info is as follows: RD 08/25/99, ND 09/16/99

yes,
a reciept is mailed for EAD renewals as well.
It takes the said 90 days and is usually active from the date of expiratoin of the last card.
