Hi,
My EAD is expiring in 15 days. I have filed for an extension about 3 months ago (July 1st). What are my options at this point?

I am working on EAD btw. I also work in CA even though my company is based in East coast and my center is VSC.

Someone previously suggested that I can just walk in the local service center to get a temporary one. So will I have to go to the one in Vermont? Or can I just go in to the one in CA?

I appreciate your help

Thanks,

Can apply at the local office

Plz confirm from others, I think, once 90 days passed, you can use your receipt notice and apply at ANY local office for EAD.

You might be mistaken....there is no interview for EAD (Atleast I have never heard about it for last couple of years). Check again . How did you know you have an interview for EAD (source)

I think OmGV is correct, at lease these were the rules when I was doing my EAD and I-485 processing. I assume that these rules haven't changed although INS (oops BCIS:)) keeps on changing them. :)

Thanks

You may go to a local BCIS office 90 days after the receipt date to get a temporary EAD card.

If you choose to wait for the actual card, whether you can work or not with just the receipt notice, depends on the company you're working for.

You need to goto (after 90 days from RD) local BCIS office(District office under which your state/town of residence falls) with proof like receipt Notice and copy of I-485 and two photographs. As far as I know you don't need to pay $120 again. You better carry money just in case.

There is nothing like interview or sort of for the instant EAD/AP in the local office unless there is already RFE issued for your EAD. Check postings for PEOPLE experiences in your local office. It may help you to prepare.
