After our interview (at Portland, OR), we were told to wait for 120 days for the FBI name check to clear. I thought there would be no problem (silly!). Now 120 days are over and I was told last week that there is no telling how long it will actually take. Unfortunately, my EAD card expires in two months. I already sent off renewal application last week. However, it looks like I will have about one month between my two EAD cards. What do I need to do to speed it up? If I can not, do I need to ask my employer to take me off the payroll for that month and add me in whenever I have the card? Is there grace period for EAD renewal? I would really appreciate if you have suggestions and have experience to share. Thanks!
