EAD Renewal; Include Plastic Card?

I would like to know if I should include the original EAD plastic card with the I-765 application for a renewal EAD card? Or would a copy of the card be sufficient? Basically, I am confused by the line 'attach previous employment authorization document'. Does that mean a copy of the card and the mailer that came with the card or does that mean the original card and the mailer?
Please help.

Just a photocopy of your original EAD card and the mailer.
You should never send originals of anything unless they ask for it.
