My EAD renewal application was transferred by Vermont to Baltimore on July 12, 2000. Yesterday, I receive an interview notice for August 21, 2000. Going to Baltimore INS will be a complete waste of time. Wait for them to send you an interview notice. you should be fine as long you have a receipt showing that EAD renewal was applied. Please do consult your lawyer for further guidance.
