Ead Renewal - Good News

I Spoke with my lawyer yesterday, she said they haven't received my EAD Renewal Receipt Yet. But today morning when I was checking my online bank...I found my checks were encashed yesterday (11/22/2002). Hopefully by next week I should be receiving my EAD Renewal Receipts

Receipt on reverse of check

If you have access to the cashed checks, you can find you receipt number stamped on the reverse of the check.. not that it will give you any advantage or wait a few days till you get the receipt.

When did you send your EAD/AP renewal application ?

I (My lawyer) mailed it on 10/29/2002 and they received the receipt notices on 11/19/2002.
MD: 10/29/2002
RD: 10/30/2002
ND: 11/05/2002

I mailed my EAD renewal application on 11/06/02. My check was cashed on 11/19/02 and I received the receipt on the same day. According to the receipt, the RD is 11/08/02 and ND is 11/15/02.

Is there any advantage of getting a receipt?

I have the receipt already but my EAD is expiring next week. would it mean that if i have a receipt I can continue to work?

Or do i have to stop working till i get the approval.

Does any one know if there is anyway an EAD approval can be expedited?

Is it okay to continue to work after the current EAd expires and i have the recipt of the extension filing. Will my company know when my EAD expires as I am working on a EAD.

Any suggestions what my options are at this point

Working on EAD, you need the actual EAD card before you can start working on it.

I am in the similar situation, My Current EAD expires on 15 JAN and Applied for renewal 2 weeks ago, Checks are not cashed for EAD but cashed for AP on 22nd NOV. I do not know why the EAD checks are not cashed yet.

I am in dilama, whether I can work on EAD while the EAD under process or stop working till geting the actual card.

Please share your experience if anyone gone through this situation.

I found the following in www.immihelp.com

If the non-immigrant visa status is expiring after filing adjustment of status application and before receiving EAD, the person can still work but the employer may be fined by allowing unauthorized person to work.

If you are planning to work using EAD, you need the actual EAD card before you can start working on it. Mere approval message on the phone system is not enough.
