I filed for my I-485 adjustment in April 2002. I also got an EAD valid until June 3rd 2003. My H1 expired Jan 2003 and I did not extend it since I was on EAD.
I filed for my renewal of EAD on April 15th 2003 and did not get it until July 8th 2003. The new start date on my second EAD shows as July 8th 2003. There is a lapse of 34 days between my two EADs.I was told by many at work that this would be a problem later. I'm not really sure what to do now. My attorney says he can't handle this
and asked me to write to the INS asking for backdating my EAD. Is this possible ?? Have anyone of you faced a situation like this ? It would be a great help and releif if someone out here can advise me on the corrective approach to be taken.
