I applied for EAD-renewal on Apr 8th and when I checked
the AVM today, it says that the case has been transferred
to the local INS office for interview. Two months earlier our 485
was transferred to Philly office from NSC.

Anyone has this kind of experience ? Why do they have to
schedule interviews even for EAD renewals ? How long does it
take? Pl. share.

No Title

My wife\'s case was also transfered to Local INS for interview, we filed EAD renewal on April 18th. No news yet. Infact I didn\'t ask for the EAC number from my lawyer. I will ask him and will check the status for that.
Where did you file EAD renewal. VSC or NSC?

My guess

would be.. since your I-485 file is with local INS, they have transfered your EAD application also to Local INS.

Filed with NSC

Per my attorney\'s advise, I filed at NSC.
But anyway, the ball has now bounced back to square one....

What you are planning to do

Interview might take 3-6 months. Are you planning to visit Local INS and try getting EAD there. How you will be able to work once your current EAD expires.
What is your attorney saying now....I am also worried now..

mine similar case don\'t worry

I filed my EAD renew in march. In April my 485 was transfered to local INS office. In May, I was noticed that my EAD application was also transfered to INS local office for interview. Fortuntely early may, I got my green card stamp on the day of 485 interview and the officer told me to discard the interview of EAD.

I guess for my case, 485 transfer trigured the transfer of EAD.

You will be fine.

In your case you were lucky to have I-485 interview within a month. But all local INS offices are not that fast...some are taking 6 months. So what should we do if both 485 and EAD are transfered to local INS and current EAD expires....

iEAD

I think I\'ll wait and go to local office to apply for iEAD.
I have one more month left with my current EAD expiry.
