I am currently on H1B and my I-140/I-485 has been applied. My I-140 hasn't been approved while my I-485 was applied with me as secondary applicant to my wife(who is the primary applicant). I recently got my EAD approved.
Under the above scenario:

1)Will I be allowed to work on EAD though the 180 day window hasn't passed without affecting my GC?
2)Do you see any issues on my GC processing if I start working on EAD?

What 180 day window are you talking about? You can start working on EAD as soon as you get it. But that invalidates your H1 status and changes your status to AOS pending.

The 180 day window that I am talking about is the AC21 window whereby you are allowed to change jobs after applying for your I-485(and 180 days has passed) and your I-140 has been approved.. Does that have any role to play in the usuage of EAD at all?

For your convenience I repeat the questions back again. Under the above scenario:

Did you apply for two I-485s, one based on your unapproved I-140, and the other as a derivative of your wife's AOS? Which 485 was your EAD associated with? The 180-day window refers to the use of AC21, if you want to continue with your own EB 485, but shouldn't affect your AOS as a dependent.

If it was your wife's I-485 and that's how you got your EAD (and not based upon your own I-485 as an principle applicant), then AC21/180 days does not apply to you. You can start working on EAD and/or change your job.

Thanks everyone. Could you please answer this alone?

1)If I decide to work on EAD will it affect my GC pending in AOS (AOS through my wife's I-485 with me as dependent) right now by any means at all in the future.

you can work on derivate EAD with no problems. Only thing is you lose your premium H-1B status would land into the mess of applying for EAD and AP every years (actually eight months and wait for it to approve the rest four months). Choice is yours.
