EAD receviced in Sep,01 but SSN database not updated

Hi,
My wife received the EAD card back in September,2001. But Social security office has not received her information until now. So, there is a gap between INS database and Social security office database and she can\'t get social security number. Social security office tell us to wait but it\'s already 5 months and we do not have a clue what to do..
Pl. help.

My wife is also in the same predicament

She applied for SSn in Dec and was told that her A# is not showing in the database as authorised to work and that SSN people have to write to INS and verify.It will take more than a month. Still waiting.

If you do a search using "SSN EAD" You will find a lot of people in the same situation
