Can anyone please clarify these issues:
I have gotten an EAD during 485 processing.
Am currently working on H1. With six months of 485 completed
a) Can I do contracting on my own ie. do I still need an employer or
can I contract assuming that the payments and the field of contracting
remains the same as that on the 485 / I140 petition
b) if I am laid off from the present employer - how long can I stay in
US legally? I understand that an H-1 visa holder has to leave
immediately if laid off. Does that still continue to be applied to EAD
holders?
