EAD Receipt - 3 months later

Applied for EAD in Feb. Never got the receipt from INS. As per the lawyer it happened with 50% of EAD cases in that timeperiod.

Lawyer sent this note around 4th April:

Receipts: A large number of members report that they are not receiving receipt notices for I-485 applications. After confirming that the checks for these cases have been cashed, and WAC numbers issued, these members have called the CSC and been told that a receipt has not been issued. What is causing this glitch? Since the CSC's system reflects that no receipt has been issued, can an original receipt now be issued?
The CSC is aware of this problem and we are working on resolving this. (Please see next question for additional information.)

Duplicate Receipts: Please confirm that a duplicate receipt can be
issued for all petitions and applications filed at the CSC where CSC either failed to mail out an initial receipt or mailed the receipt to an incorrect address. Please confirm the proper procedure for obtaining a duplicate receipt. Please provide us with a sample duplicate receipt.

Per previous AILA meeting QA, the CSC will issue replacement/corrected receipt notices on a case by case basis. Requests should be faxed to Division VII. We ask that you limit requests to only those cases where a hard copy notice is essential. Case status is now available on-line and should address the need to verify receipt in many circumstances.

Lawyer said they were faxing a request in my case, as receipt was required to get an iEAD. Never believed a word of above, as INS had been bullsh***ing about 485s and improving the process for last few months. But Amazingly lawyer mailed me today saying they rcvd the I-765 receipt from INS. Well, guess what, INS walking the talk!! Seems like faxing about duplicate receipts in case of i-765 may work out.
 
What is Division VII? Can you give me that fax number? Do you have any form that I need to fill in order to send to that Division VII?

I also did not receive any receipt for my EAD renew, which my
lawyer sent in Feb.27.

I do not know much about division VII or the fax number. Lawyer took care of all that.

I guess, your lawyer should also be knowing about it. Not sure if my lawyer would be forthcoming in telling me the fax number.

Missing Receipts for Cases Filed With Reduced Fees

During the period in which reduced filing fees were in effect, the CSC was manually imputing fees into the system. Unfortunately, as a result, receipts were not generated for many cases. Apparently, this has been a problem at all Service Centers, and Headquarters is currently working on a solution to generate receipts for these cases.

If your client needs a receipt in order to return from international travel or to obtain an interim EAD, and cannot wait until a solution is reached at Headquarters, you obtain a duplicate request per the instructions indicated in the CSC answer to Question 3.

The CSC has agreed to notify local BCIS offices so that they are aware of the receipt generation problem to help facilitate the issuance of interim EAD cards in instances where no I-765 receipt was issued.
