EAD questions

I need to renew my EAD. Now BCIS says that I can either do it online or by traditional way. If go online, I need to go to service office to take photo, fingerprint and signature. But by paper application, I do not need to take fingerprint according to the form. Do I have to take fingerprint later if I file by paper?

I filled my ead through paper and they did not require fingerprint
i think fingerprint is a security measure they take when you do it online.
and also online and paper take the same time. i have heard somewhere that online is faster, but it is the same time frame.
